Tutors Friend Integrations

Tutors Friend integrates with Skype, Zoom and FaceTime! We’re all about making life easier and these seamless integrations with popular video calling apps do just that!


How to set up your Tutors Friend Integrations:


Note: Make sure you have first created accounts with Skype, Zoom or FaceTime before integrating them with Tutors Friend.


Skype

First, record your student’s Skype username in TF:

  1. Add your student’s Skype username to their student profile.

Then create a new lesson location:

  1. Select “My Business” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click the “Event Locations” tab.
  3. Click “Add New Event Location”.
  4. Name your new location (for example, Skype Lesson).
  5. Select the Skype logo as the icon for your new location.
  6. Select “Skype Lesson” from the list of addresses, then click “Save”.

Then create a lesson using the new location:

  1. Select “Calendar” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click “New Lesson” (either from the “New” tab at the top, or by clicking a day on the calendar).
  3. Add all of the lesson details, choose the Skype location you created above as the lesson location, then click “OK”.

To automatically video call your student, simply click the location link in the lesson details on your calendar, or click the Skype button in your dashboard agenda on the day of the lesson.


Zoom

First, record your Zoom Personal Meeting URL in MTF:

  1. Add your full Zoom Personal Meeting URL (found in your Zoom personal profile) to your tutor profile.

Then create a new lesson location:

  1. Select “My Business” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click the “Event Locations” tab.
  3. Click “Add New Event Location”.
  4. Name your new location (for example, Zoom Meeting).
  5. Select an icon to represent this location.
  6. Select “Zoom Meeting” from the list of addresses, then click “Save”.

Then create a lesson using the new location:

  1. Select “Calendar” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click “New Lesson” (either from the “New” tab at the top, or by clicking a day on the calendar).
  3. Add all of the lesson details, choose the Zoom location you created above as the lesson location, then click “OK”.

To start your Zoom Meeting, simply click the location link in the lesson details on your calendar, or click the Zoom Meeting button in your dashboard agenda on the day of the lesson. Students can join the Zoom Meeting by clicking the location link in their student portal calendar or in their email reminder.


FaceTime

First, record your student’s FaceTime ID in MTF:

  1. Add your student’s FaceTime ID to their student profile.

Then create a new lesson location:

  1. Select “My Business” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click the “Event Locations” tab.
  3. Click “Add New Event Location”.
  4. Name your new location (for example, FaceTime Lesson).
  5. Select the FaceTime logo as the icon for your new location.
  6. Select “FaceTime Lesson” from the list of addresses, then click “Save”.

Then create a lesson using the new location:

  1. Select “Calendar” from the menu on the left.
  2. Click “New Lesson” (either from the “New” tab at the top, or by clicking a day on the calendar).
  3. Add all of the lesson details, choose the FaceTime location you created above as the lesson location, then click “OK”.

To start your FaceTime lesson, simply click the location link in the lesson details on your calendar, or click the FaceTime button in your dashboard agenda on the day of the lesson. Note: FaceTime is only available on iOS and Mac.
